MrRebates: Money back for every day shopping!

So, today I want to talk about a website called MrRebates. MrRebates is a consumer redirect website that partners with online retailers, for the purpose distributing rebates to the consumer. MrRebates currently has approximately 2,400 online retailers that it partners with and provides percentage rebates, preset cash rebates, and coupons as well. I have literally received hundreds of dollars back in rebates from products I bought anyway!

How it works is super simple, and I'm ashamed to admit I have failed to properly use over the past years. MrRebates is not a new website, but is something that everyone can benefit from! You will go to the MrRebates website, register yourself and search for the retailer you wish to purchase from. MrRebates even applies to retailers such as Amazon and eBay as well as 2,400+ others! The percentage of rebate will vary, and some retailers provide a set cash back opposed to a percentage. Rebates are distributed once MrRebates received confirmation of the purchase from their partner site. You simple click the link from the MrRebates page that links to the retailer and that's all there is to it. No secret hand shake, no complex codes to enter.

Rebates are available across all consumer lines from lodging to edible arrangements, and even eHarmony! Some retailers offer $30 rebates on their services opposed to a percentage based rebate.

Amazon currently is offering 20% off of contemporary clothing, as well as a 3% rebate on purchases made through MrRebates.

Now, on top of receiving the incredible discounts and coupons, you also have the opportunity to suggest friends, and if someone signs up under your referral link, you will receive 20% of the rebate they receive onto your account as well! Now this is not a pyramid scheme. You are not selling anything, it's simply a referral bonus and a win, win for everyone. You only get referral bonus for those directly signed up with your referral code, so no need to try to spin a network marketing web.

Over the years I have received nearly $200 in cash rebates back just by taking an extra few seconds before purchasing items I would have bought anyway. MrRebates features retailers such as Lenovo, Dell, etc... I used my Dell rebate link for a huge discount when I purchased my Alienware laptop.

I will be completely honest with you in that all of the links to MrRebates on my blog are coded with my referral link so please click one of the MrRebates graphics, or sign up through my referral links here: http://www.mrrebates.com?refid=519418

Happy Shopping! Here are a few other screenshots of some of the deals and vendors available.

Roku Pros and Cons: Roku 3500R Streaming Stick

So, recently I purchased a Roku 3500R Streaming stick to try out. I love the concept of the Roku device, where you can consolidate all your streaming methods into one system. Previously I used my PS4 for Netflix, but I like that I can use different HDMI channels and not have to interrupt a game if I were in the middle of one. I'm the kind of guy who likes to just pause the game, and not turn it off or switch apps.

I like the Roku streaming stick, but I wish it didn't have to have it's own power source, but that's not a big deal, just need a free outlet.

I was very surprised when activating the unit, that I was forced to immediately input a credit card for it but its understandable when you see that some of their services and "Channels" are pay channels. However, these channels do have a lot of commercials, and sometimes will loop, playing a set of commercials then acting as if it will get back to the show, then start a new run of commercials until I restart the Roku channel.

Many of the major TV networks have their own channel such as FXNow, so you can launch the channel, confirm your cable subscription and watch the latest episodes of the networks TV shows. You can also use apps such as Pandora, Youtube, Facebook, etc...

All in all when its working right, it's a great tool for consolidation.

I'm going to give the Roku a happy face because of the versatility of what you can do with it.

Far Cry 4 on Playstation 4

So, I may be a little late to the party, but recently started playing Far Cry 4 and I must say it is a magically extraordinary adventure!

Far Cry 4 is set in the fictional country of Kyrat, which is similar to modern day Tibet.

This game brings action, adventure, strategy, and the fear of being slaughtered by wild animals. Including eagles that swoop down from the sky to eat your face!

The character development and plot of the game is well done and there are a few missions that can dictate balance of power and actually change the ending of the game. The decisions you make actually matter!!!

The weapon selection in the game is very broad and lets you do just about anything. I just wish I could carry more than 4 weapons at max, at a time.

Hunting in the game is quite fun as well. You can track and kill animals for their fur and meat. Use their meat to lure predators to your enemies. Just always have to keep an eye out for them sneaking up on you. Occasionally you may be ambushed by a bear or tiger so you should always be prepared for that. Shotguns are a great and powerful weapon to make most predators go down with just a few shots.

Especially the honey badgers. Those little bastards are the toughest animals in the game, except maybe the Rhino and the Elephant...

The Honey Badger in game looks like a long skunk, black and white in color. They will take many many shots to take them down, and confronting one with your knife is just suicide...

With endless side missions and free range exploration, this is a game that you can play for weeks on end without it getting old!

I highly recommend Far Cry 4 and have to give it a 10/10. There were only a few minor nuances I had, the little helicopter you can fly around in does not seem to have a consistent altitude cap. You can be at different altitudes above the ground and still begin to stall.

But that is a minor nuance and not worth dropping the game down to a 9.

The plot itself in a journey of exploring your characters past and his parents involvement in the development of Kyrat and is intertwined with the current dictator. The entire game you are combating his regime, working your way through his commanders and forces to get to his fortress and confront him.

First Review! - The Order 1886 (Playstation 4 game)

So, I decided to make my first review on this blog, the newly released Playstation 4 game, "The Order 1886".

Now, I want to start out by saying how excited I was for this game to come out. Saw the preview at Gamestop, and ordered it months before the release date this past Friday (2/20/2015).

I am a pretty easy going guy, and consider myself a fair perspective. I don't stick to pre-conceived notions of anything. I have to give the game a solid 3/10. I was extremely disappointed in the final product. So much so I actually looked up other reviews to see if I just missed something.

It appears that this game was just a flop, with a typical response between 4-6 out of 10.

Now, the number one most hated thing about this game that I have lingering, and just absolutely cannot get past is the lack of free motion. I'm not talking free motion like do a standing back flip and beat someone with a lamp. I mean, I am standing, now I would like to crouch. Why does the circle button not crouch like in 90% of other first and third person shooters... you cannot tell it when to crouch, you can only tell it to take cover behind a wall, or a crate.

I also just loved how I cannot determine if/when I have a weapon out. If I am running through a catacomb and not familiar with the surrounding, I would like to have my gun out and be prepared for anything. But I can't... The game has decided I do not need a weapon, effectively telling me, don't bother keeping engaged just walk around until the game decides to pull your weapon out, and then you realize, hey there will be action soon...

This along with a relatively short campaign opposed to modern adventure games like Assassin's Creed, FarCry, etc...

I absolutely loved the concept and plot of the game though. It was very upsetting to me that they completely botched the gameplay...

The concept of an alternate universe, where the dark ages hadn't happened, and allows us to go 130 years into the past, and deal with a futuristic arsenal is really appealing. I also loved that they brought Tesla into the mix and there was some good banter about his rivalry with Thomas Edison.

As I mentioned before, I gave it a 3/10. This game had so much incredible potential, and they just completely botched it. Story had so much potential, graphics were good, but it just completely missed the mark.

Also, spoiler alert... There are too many penises in this game....

:( for this game!
